Argh, Lights!

As Autumn creeps in, I’ve discovered another gift from Post Concussion Syndrome (the gift that keeps on giving)...

As it gets dark outside and the lights go on I really struggle with headaches and mental overload from artificial lighting. It’s brutal, like someone turning the light on when I’ve been asleep, but my eyes not adjusting to the light.

One approach is wearing a cap and sunglasses indoors. Yes, I look a total idiot and my family mock me, but it gets me through the evening meal and beyond. It may not get me through the washing up though.

EDIT: I’ve since discovered that this should only be short term so the eyes don’t adapt. Darn it. So I’ve got us some tasteful side lights to use instead of the overhead brain-splitter lighting over the dining table. Maybe I’ll just eat dinner with my eyes closed.
