Hare & Tortoise
You remember the story.
The hare and the tortoise have a race, the hare goes off at break next speed full of bravado and confidence that he can win because, of course, he’s faster than the tortoise. So, smug and comfortably ahead in the race, he lies down to take a nap; meanwhile the tortoise continues plodding along at his steady speed until he crosses the line first.
My physio always said that boom and bust makes recovery take longer. I’ve always lived my life at the pace of the hare, I’m not a natural tortoise. The way of the tortoise doesn’t come easily to me. I already feel so slow, so limited, but it seems at the moment I need to go slower.
This isn’t a race but I just really want to cross the line.
