Fun
We spent a week in beautiful Dorset, my place of wellness. Gradually recovering from over 3 months of sometimes crushing fatigue, I found myself feeling so alive and so well again.
What was it? The fresh air? The blue skies (yes, the weather was good!) or the cold sea swims? Being away from domesticity?
I did a 5 hour bike ride!! And I was fine later and the next day. We went walking, kayaking, swimming and I even did a couple of jogs. We clambered down to Dancing Ledge for a dip in the sea-filled natural pool and I was first in. Adventure Mum was back.
Discussing it with my therapist we concluded that it was simply the benefit of having FUN together, every day. We all know about endorphins and seratonin and all that, but I think we under-estimate that it actually makes us feel WELL. So I don’t mind saying that having more fun is another part of my recovery strategy. :)
